Uvalde, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – A Texas House committee’s long awaited report on what went wrong in the Uvalde Robb Elementary School shooting is now out. 19 children and 2 teachers were shot and killed as a bevy of officers from many agencies took no action to stop the shooter for more than one hour.
The report finds several missed red flags on the shooter, according to committee Chairperson, Rep. Dustin Burrows:
“He came from a broken home with little to no interaction with his father, He struggled in school, both academically and socially. He struggled to fit in and eventually became socially isolated. He networked with his peers through social media and violent video games and ultimately developed a fixation on school shootings and even developed the nickname “school shooter.”
Rep. Burrows says officials found no overseeing commander, standard practice in massive crime scenes, and many outside officers lied too about negotiations being underway with the gunman.
On the list of many issues to be addressed now; ensuring schools are locked – robb elementary was open in several areas, and that classrooms be equipped with locks that work.
