DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas Governor Greg Abbott is calling for U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to be impeached. The Governor’s comments came on Friday while joining WBAP’s Rick Roberts Show.
“I’m calling for Congress to impeach Secretary Mayorkas for not doing his job as designated by the United States Congress,” Gov. Abbott told Roberts.
Governor Abbott has been blaming Biden administration immigration policies on the current surge of illegal immigrants at the Texas-Mexico border.
Earlier this week the Governor signed an executive order that allows Texas Guard members and the State Troopers to return illegal immigrants to ports of entry. The White House responded by referring to Abbott’s track record at the border.
