More Turmoil In Uvalde

Uvalde (WBAP/KLIF) – The Mayor of Uvalde and a state senator who represents the area are calling on the state of Texas to take over operation of a center that was created to provide aid to victims’ families in the aftermath of the Robb Elementary School shootings. They say the center has provided only meager benefits to those families, and should be removed from the control of the local District Attorney. The ‘Uvalde Together Resiliency Center’ was created by Governor Abbott on June 6. It was funded with $5 million in state money. The Mayor and the Senator say the local D.A. has neither the staff nor the experience to deal with the demands of such an operation. They want the Texas Department of Emergency Services to take it over.
