WASHINGTON DC (WBAP/KLIF News ) – In a historic moment for the United States, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson became the first black woman to be sworn into the Supreme Court.

Outgoing Justice Stephen Breyer officially stepped down Thursday and swore her in.
Justice Jackson, a former public defender and federal appeals court judge, is Breyer’s former law clerk.
The Harvard law graduate’s nomination was confirmed by the Senate in a 53-47 vote in April.
