Granite Shoals (WBAP/KLIF) – Two people were killed Sunday in the crash of a light aircraft near the town of Granite Shoals, about 60 miles northwest of Austin. They were flying a motorized ultralight aircraft, often called a trike, when it suddenly pitched into the ground. That type of aircraft has a wing similar to a hang-glider, with a three-wheel tricycle-style undercarriage where a pilot and passenger can sit. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
