Coppell ISD Mother Accuses District of Not Being Transparent in Chokehold Incident

Coppell, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – The family of a North Coppell Middle School student is demanding justice after video went viral of a male student being violently held in a chokehold.

Before the chokehold, a commotion is heard on the video, and someone is heard saying, “No, I’m not getting pf. Literally ther is no one sitting here.”

According to our media partner, WFAA-TV, the student accused in the incident was given a one-day suspension. The family of the 14-year old victim says the school district has not been transparent about what happened and it is demanding justice in the matter.

Dr Brad Hunt, Coppell ISD Superintendent, posted a letter on the district website saying “Bullying, both verbal and physical, as well as physical acts of aggression are never acceptable and do not align with who we are at cisd and our core values.”
