FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – Fort Worth ISD is investigating a video that shows a Paschal High School student reading racial slurs during a presentation.
In the video, a student is seen reading from a piece of paper in front of the class. The ‘N’ Word was said at multiple times in about three minutes. The teacher appeared to be in the room.
“We are shocked and saddened by what happened in a Paschal High School classroom,” FWISD said in a statement. “Upon learning of this incident, both the school and District took immediate steps to investigate. The language and the actions seen in the video are inexcusable; they are neither representative of nor are they acceptable at any Fort Worth ISD school.”
The district said it will not tolerate racism of any kind, and insisted its committed to ensuring an environment where all students feel respected and safe.
“I am disgusted by the inexcusable behavior that took place in a Paschal High School classroom,” said Superintendent Kent Scribner. “There is no place for this kind of language in our society, much less in our schools. I am appalled by the conduct of the adult in the room and saddened by the message that it sends to our students.”
Scribner said he recommended to the school board that the teacher no longer be employed by Fort Worth ISD.
