Fort Knox, KY (WBAP-KLIF) – The remains of a young soldier from Texas who disappeared during the Korean war more than 70 years ago are being returned to the state for burial. The remains of Army Corporal Marvin D. Actkinson of Sudan in west Texas were turned over to the U.S. in 2018 by North Korea. They were identified in 2021. Funeral services are scheduled for February 12 in Colorado City. Actinkson was 18 when he was reported missing on December 2, 1950, as his unit was trying to withdraw from the Chosin River.
