Most Texas Schools Haven’t Used COVID Testing Money

Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas Education Agency says an $800 million federal grant that’s been given to Texas schools to bolster COVID-19 testing has been mostly unused so far. Public schools have spent about $3.6 million of it. All private schools combined spent a little more than $125,000. T.E.A. points out just because schools aren’t using the federal money doesn’t mean they’re not testing. There are, however, no publicly released figures to support that position.
