Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – The city of Dallas has agreed to pay $1 million to settle a wrongful death lawsuit. The family of Juan Segovia sued six months ago claiming the city violated his civil rights by leaving him alone in a cell without checking on him after he had been arrested for drunkenness. The city never filed a formal response to the allegations, but did take the case to mediation. The city council agreed to the results of that mediation during Wednesday’s session.
