Ross Perot Jr Donates Helicopter to Dallas Police Department

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas Police Department was presented with a new crime fighting tool on Wednesday.

Dallas businessman Ross Perot Jr. donated a Bell 407 helicopter to DPD during an official ceremony outside Dallas City Hall.

“We cannot be a great city without an incredible Police force,” Perot Jr. said.

Police Chief Eddie Garcia said a helicopter is an extremely useful tool for the department.

“For vehicle and foot pursuits, missing person calls, SWAT operations, rooftop checks during possible burglaries, special events, and demonstrations,” Chief Garcia insisted.

With Perot Jr. inside, the chopper landed on Dallas City Hall Plaza where Mayor Eric Johnson and City Council members were awaiting its arrival.
