State Education Board Preliminarily Rejects Sex-Ed Instructional Materials for Jr/Sr High

Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – The ongoing controversy over “inappropriate” content in Texas public schools, resulted in the Texas State Board of Education this week rejecting proposed sex-ed materials for middle and high schoolers.

The 15-member board gave a preliminary thumbs down to instructional materials that includes topics like contraception, gender identity and self-harm, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Two publishers up for consideration had until end-of-business Wednesday to make proposed changes.

The board will take a final vote on Friday.
