Arlington Billboard Warning Against Fentanyl is Renewed

The message on a billboard in Arlington is expanding to other cities and states.

Earlier this year, out of her own pocket, Patricia Saldivar paid for an ad on a billboard near AT&T Stadium in Arlington. It features the phrase, “one pill that’s all it took” above a photo of her daughter Cassandra who died from a fentanyl overdose.

Saldivar said the message is more important now than ever.

“Because we are seeing so much of it going on now,” she said. “It’s wiping out a generation.”

With fentanyl overdoses on the rise, the DEA’s High Drug Trafficking Area program has agreed to pay for the Arlington billboard for six more months and add signs in Houston, San Antonio, Tulsa, and New Mexico.
