FT. WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – In a written statement TCU has confirmed the university has parted ways with longtime Head Football Coach Gary Patterson. The statement said that TCU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Jeremiah Donati and Chancellor Boschini met with Patterson on Sunday and mutually agreed that the time had come for a “new voice and leadership in the football program.”
Patterson had been head coach since 2000. He was asked to remain at the university for the remainder of the season and take on a different role in 2022, but he declined. Special assistant to the head coach Jerry Kill will take over as interim head coach.
