ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- A North Texas teen started a new program to give back to those in need.
Brock Burgan, A senior at LD Bell High School started “Brox Sox” when he found out socks were the most needed item for local homeless shelters.
For his birthday he requested contributions of socks from family and friends instead of gifts. As a result, he brought 800 pairs of socks to “Mission Arlington”.
Something as simple as socks, something we may take for granted, made a huge impact.
“It was around when school was starting so it helped people go to school, helped people go to work and helped people go to church…it was a really big deal it helped them a lot,” said Burgan..
He said he’s grateful to be able to make a difference and is continuing to collect more socks for North Texans in need.
“It feels good to be able to do something good and help people in the process. If there were more people like this we could make the world a better place,” he said.
