Border Bridge To Re-Open

(WBAP/KLIF) — After the bridge between two border communities was shut-down for more than a week, residents are looking for a return to normal.

The towns of Del Rio, Texas, and Ciudad Acuña, Mexico, were unable to travel along Independence bridge due to over 15,000 illegal Haitian migrants camped beneath.

Since September 17th, that meant many employees were unable to get to work and medical appointments had to be canceled.

Now the Federal Government reopened the bridge to passenger traffic as of late Saturday, while cargo traffic is expected to begin Monday.
