Multi-Law Enforcement Agency Operation Nets “Significant Results” in Dallas

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Law enforcement agencies in North Texas, on Thursday, stressed the significance of a recently completed joint operation that targeted reducing gun violence in the Pleasant Grove area of Southeast Dallas.

Operation Pegasus was a combined effort between Dallas Police, the ATF, the U.S. Attorneys Office, and Texas DPS.

According to the ATF, drugs and close to $2 million dollars in cash was confiscated during the operation that lasted 90 days.

“The collaboration that I’ve seen between our state and federal partners is the best that I have experienced in nearly 30 years of law enforcement in two different cities, in two different states,” Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia insisted on Thursday.

The operation also led to the seizure of more than 100 guns.

“That’s a lot,” said ATF Special Agent in Charge, Jeffrey Boshek. “That’s 100 firearms from a small area in South Dallas in 90 days. 100 firearms that aren’t out there to fall in the hands of children or end on on school yards.”

The agencies said their collaboration will continue in the effort to cut back on violent crime.
