
AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas State Representative Matt Krause announced on Thursday that he will forgo seeking a sixth term as state representative in pursuit of becoming the next Attorney General for the State of Texas.
“After much consideration, prayer, and with the support of my family, I have decided to run for Attorney General,” said Rep. Krause. “I will be a faithful conservative fighter for Texas values, the citizens of Texas, and the Constitution.”
According to the Krause campaign, Krause is a fourth-generation Texan, born in Tyler, who grew up in San Antonio, and currently resides in
the Fort Worth area. During the 87th Legislative Session Representative Krause was appointed Chairman of the House Committee on General Investigating.
Krause joins a crowded field of candidates challenging Paxton in the Republican primary. Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush, and former Texas Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman are the other Republicans in the race.
