AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas Governor Greg Abbott has announced that September 28 will be the date of the special election runoff to replace former state Representative Jake Ellzey.
Two Republicans are in the runoff, Ellzey’s predecessor John Wray and the former chief of staff at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, under former President Trump, Brian Harrison.
Harrison got 41% of the vote in the August runoff election, Wray received 36% of the vote.
District 10 covers rural areas south and east of Dallas. Early voting starts on September 20.
