Southwest Airlines Cuts Daily Flights for 2021

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – If you’ve got a flight with Southwest Airlines you better make sure it hasn’t been canceled.

The Fort Worth base airline is reducing its flight schedule for the remainder of the year. The cancelations are due to numbers factors including the rise in COVID-19 cases impacting travel, and Southwest staff claiming to be overworked. More than 160 daily flights will be slashed from Sept. 7 through Nov. 5, with more schedule adjustments expected at the end of the year. The cuts come just days after the airline issued an apology to employees for increased run-ins with unruly passengers and mandatory overtime.
