ALLEN (WBAP/KLIF) – The Allen community is mourning the loss of a football coach who died weeks after his wife said he was hospitalized for COVID-19 and pneumonia.
James Shillam was a Freshman Football Coach at Allen High School. His wife said on social media earlier this month he had been put on ventilator with pneumonia and COVID.
In an update this week, she said her husband had passed away.
The Allen Eagles Football program took to Twitter to honor the coach.
It is with great sadness for us to announce that Coach James Shillam passed away yesterday. Coach was a man of God, devoted husband, & father of two. Coach Shillam has impacted so many lives through his tenure. Although his time at Allen was short, he will always be an Eagle. 🙏
