MCKINNEY (WBAP/KLIF) – The Salesmanship Club Charitable Golf of Dallas announced this week that the 2021 AT&T Byron Nelson raised $5.5 million for Momentous Institute in its inaugural year at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney.
The Salesmanship Club said that the net proceeds reflect tremendous support even though COVID-19 protocols limited crowd capacity to 25% of pre-pandemic levels.
“The AT&T Byron Nelson has always been more than a game,” said 2021 AT&T Byron Nelson Tournament Chair Jeff Walter. “We are absolutely thrilled with the success of our first tournament in McKinney, but our proudest achievement by far remains our continued commitment to Momentous Institute and the children and families it serves. We are deeply grateful to our incredible sponsors, partners, and fans for making this possible.”
The tournament continues to support the work of Momentous Institute, which collaborates with children, families and communities to build and repair social emotional health through education, therapeutic services, research and training so all children can achieve their full potential. The PGA TOUR named Momentous Institute ‘Charity of the Year’ in 2019.
This year marked the first time the tournament has been held outside of Dallas County. While attendance was limited due to the pandemic, tickets to the event sold out in April.
Since 1968, the tournament has raised $172.5 million for Momentous Institute, making it the most financially successful charity event on the PGA TOUR.
