DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – According to City Officials in Fort Worth, the number of COVID-19 cases has gone from three to four hundred a week, up to three to four thousand a week, within the last month.
There’s also an up tick in the number of hospitalizations. The city’s health director Brandon Bennett said “99.5% of the fatalities right now are among unvaccinated people.” He added that 97-98% of people being hospitalized are unvaccinated. Bennett said “that shows vaccinations are an effective way to avoid being so sick that you have to be hospitalized.”
Due to the rise in COVID cases and hospitalizations, the city of Fort Worth is hosting free community vaccination clinics from now through Saturday August 14th. So If you live in Fort Worth and have not been vaccinated, now is your chance. The city’s website states most vaccination sites are available for adults 18 years and older only. Parents of youth ages 12-17 should call 817-392-8478 to learn about additional options. There is no appointment necessary.
