Mid-Summer March Ends In Central Texas

Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – A four day, mid summer march across central Texas wrapped up at the Texas State Capitol in Austin Saturday. The marchers walked 27 miles in all to demonstrate their objections to proposed voting reforms now under consideration by a special session of the Texas Legislature. They see the proposals as an attempt to restrict access to the polls. They also hoped their action would pressure Congress to pass federal voting legislation that would supercede state laws. The Republican sponsors of the Texas proposals insist their only goal is to make elections safer and more secure.
