DALLAS  (WBAP/KLIF News) – North Texans who are looking for work are invited to attend a job fair the Galleria Dallas this weekend.

More than 80 retailers and restaurants will be offering hundreds of jobs as they look to shore up staff amid this phase of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Galleria Dallas General Manager Angie Freed said these businesses are in dire need of staff to meet the continued uptick in demand.

“Macys said we really need as many people we can find and they have all different types of positions as do our other retailers. They have managerial positions, to part-time positions that they’re trying to fill,” she said.

Some establishments are offering incentives to entice future employees. Freed said the mall is looking for employees for its curbside program it developed during the pandemic and those positions come with a bonus.

“We’re hiring for the staff that will help us run that program…and run purchases to customer vehicles and we’re offering an incentive. When an employee has been with us 90 days, we will give them a cash bonus,” she said.

Many employers will be conducting on site interview and hiring on the spot.

“Be ready. Bring resumes. They will have applications ready in some cases,” said Freed.

The fair is being held on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Level 3 of the mall with entrances at the Westin Hotel. It will be marked with balloons and signage.
