U.S. Representative Beth Van Duyne has her first democrat challenger.
Former Marine Derrik Gay has announced his candidacy for the 24th Congressional District.
Gay, spent 13 years in the Marine Corps as an intelligence officer before being medically discharged, last year.
Gay says the Jan. 6th attack on the U.S Capitol was a ”call to action.”
The republican incumbent, Van Duyne is currently serving out her first term in Congress. She is the former Mayor of Irving.
