DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- As Dallas continues the process to secure the bid to host the 2026 World Cup, The North Confederation of North Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) brings the Gold Cup to North Texas from July 10-29, 2021.
This tournament will serve as a “mini World Cup,” to showcase North Texas’ ability to host a successful international soccer event.
The Gold Cup will be played in 10 venues in seven cities across the U.S and three of those venues will be in North Texas. The games will be played at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, The Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas and The Toyota Stadium in Frisco.
The CONCACAF trophy (measuring 26 inches tall and weighing 20 pounds) is concluding a tour of North Texas, culminating with stop at host venue Cotton Bowl Stadium on Tuesday, June 29. The Gold Cup is the region’s top international tournament, featuring men’s national teams from across North America, Central America and the Caribbean. Held every two years to crown a confederation champion, North Texas will host seven Gold Cup matches. Match tickets, or a pass for all five games, are available online.
