(WBAP/KLIF) – Governor Greg Abbott will host 45th President Donald J. Trump for a border security briefing with state officials and law enforcement on Wednesday in the Rio Grande Valley.
The former President and the Governor will also tour of the unfinished border wall.
Wednesday’s meeting begins with a border security briefing at 12 p.m. at the DPS Headquarters in Weslaco. It will be followed by a trip to the border itself. The visit comes amid a continued surge of migrants at the southern border, and weeks after Governor Abbott pledged to complete a border wall in his state.
The former President’s trip to the border comes days after Vice President Kamala Harris addressed the migrant surge with members of law enforcement and community groups in El Paso.
