It’s an effort to prevent the annual spike in 9-1-1 fireworks-related phone calls that inundate the city each year around the Fourth of July weekend.
Setting off fireworks is illegal within the City of Arlington and those who are caught may face a fine of up to $2,000.
Arlington officials encourage residents to “let the pros light the sky” but said they’re prepared to handle the situation.
“We recognize that neighborhoods across the city will still be filled with bangs, booms and bright flashes of colorful light as people celebrate with illegal fireworks in their yards or at nearby parks,” said the city in a statement.

Officials are asking residents to use the tool to report fireworks activity between 7 p.m. – 3 a.m. from July 2nd – July 5th. To report illegal fireworks outside this timeframe, residents can call the Arlington Fire Department’s non-emergency line at 817-274-4444.
The City of Arlington will be hosting a free fireworks display July 3rd at 9:30 p.m. near Globe Life Field.
