Southwest Airlines Workers Getting a Raise

(WBAP/KLIF) — A Texas based airline is boosting wages to lure new employees.

Southwest Airlines will increase it’s minimum wage to $15 an hour and raise the pay of thousand of airport workers.  According to Fox’s Hilary Barsky, the move is meant to retain current employees and attract new ones.

The Dallas-based carrier says that about 7,000 workers will get the increase, including reservation agents and those that clean planes. The company employs about 60,000 workers.  The salary hike takes effect August 1st.
