Texas Prisoners Moved to Make Room for Illegal Immigrants

(WBAP/KLIF) — The state has begun transferring inmates from a state prison to make room for detained illegal immigrants.  The program began on Wednesday.

Texas Department of Criminal Justice spokesman Jeremy Desel said, Thursday, that the prison system began moving inmates from the medium-to-minimum-security on Wednesday. he said prisoners at the Dolph Briscoe Unit prison in Dilley, about 70 miles southwest of San Antonio, are being moved to make room for illegal immigrant criminals.

The move was made in response to Governor Greg Abbott’s order that state authorities arrest migrants who are in the country illegally and have committed a crime.
