Suspect Wounded in Officer-Involved-Shooting in Denton

Denton, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – Two Denton Police officers are are administrative leave after an officer-involved-shooting overnight.

Officers had responded to a domestic disturbance call.
it happened at Pace’s Crossing Apartments around 2:30am.

Denton Police Chief Frank Dixon told reporters this morning that the suspect was seen several times hold a gun while holding a female victim, and that he fired his weapon at officers.

Dixon updated reporters this morning in this Facebook live video.

Officers returned fire, striking the suspect twice.

No officers were hurt.

The suspect is being treated for what is believed to be non-life-threatening-injuries.

The Texas Tangers are investigating.

Denton, TX _ Denton police are currently on the scene of an officer-involved shooting in the 2400 block of south I-35E.

In a tweet, the department says the suspect is currently being treated for gunshot wounds. None of the officers involved were injured.

There is no ongoing threat to the public.

More details as to what led to the shooting are forthcoming.
