Arlington Police Hosts Community Cook Out Event

ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- The Arlington Police Department is hosting a cook out event Wednesday 5/27 evening.

Deputy Chief Chris Cook said the “Cooking with Cops” event all started when a professional chef turned Arlington officer came up with the idea to cook for events to engage with the community.

“It gives people the opportunity to come and see officers in a different light,” said Cook. “Let’s face it, a lot of times people only meet officers when they’ve been victimized, they’re calling to make a report or at a traffic stop.”

He said last weeks event had such success they wanted to keep it going. It will at Vandergriff Park from 6 to 9 pm.
