AUSTIN – A date was set Wednesday for the special runoff election in Texas’ 6th Congressional District.
The election is to fill the seat of late Congressman Ron Wright. Wright’s widow, Susan Wright, is on the ballot with Texas State Rep. Jake Ellzey. Both candidates are Republicans and emerged from a crowded field after the May 1 election.
Governor Greg Abbott issued a proclamation setting Tuesday, July 27, 2021 as the date for special runoff election. The early voting period for this runoff election will begin Monday, July 19, 2021.
