DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas Police Department has released video footage of the deadly officer involved shooting this week on the service road of 635 near Coit Road.
Dallas Police helicopter footage shows 28-year-old Edgar Luis Tirado run across all lanes of traffic on a busy 635 on Monday afternoon. According to Police, Officers confronted Tirado after he was linked to a car jacking on Rolling Hills Lane. Tirado ran from Police and was later reported to have been involved in an attempted armed robbery at a CVS store. Police located Tirado a short time later on the 635 service road. According to DPD, Tirado pointed what appeared to be a gun at the Officer. Three Officers fired their weapons, ultimately killing Tirado.
“During the encounter, Dallas Officers fired their weapons, striking Tirado twice,” said Deputy Chief Terrence Rhodes. “It was later determined Tirado was carrying a replica firearm.”
The Dallas County District Attorney’s office is investigating the shooting.
