Southwest Airlines Devalues Rewards Program Points

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Want to travel for free on Dallas based Southwest Airlines?  You’ll need more Rapid Rewards points.  Since the pandemic, the airline is the first major carrier to makes its points, or miles, less valuable.  It will cost you about 6.5% more rewards points to get a free flight.  The airline says it made the changes, “to maintain that unique combination of value” from the program’s various benefits.  So what does this mean?  A flight that once “cost” 10,000 points will now “cost” 10,650 points.
