Pandemic Slowing as Cases Eclipse 650,000 in Metroplex

(WBAP/KLIF) — The Lone Star state is inching towards 2.5 million coronavirus infections, after more than 2,227 cases were detected Friday.  Dallas and Tarrant counties have close to 253,000 positive tests each during the Covid-19 pandemic, while Collin and Denton counties are both close to 73,000 cases.

The death toll in Dallas county is almost 3,700, tarrant county over 3,300, Collin county more than 800 fatalities, and Denton county has lost over 475 residents.  The Texas death toll has eclipsed 48,000 after another 96 people died Friday.

Dallas county 253,668 positive tests (294 new), 3,687 deaths (18 new), 1.5% mortality rate

Tarrant county 252,669 positive tests (208 new), 3,315 deaths (0 new), 1.3% mortality rate

Collin county 72,500 positive tests (38 new), 804 deaths (0 new), 1.1% mortality rate

Denton county 72,583 positive tests (87 new), 476 deaths (0 new), 0.7% mortality rate

Metroplex 651,420 positive tests (627 new), 8,282 deaths (18 new), 1.3% mortality rate

Texas 2,418,286 positive tests (2,227 new), 48,109 deaths (96 new), 2.0% mortality rate
