The Texas Legislature Is Working On Stricter Abortion Legislation

Austin — (WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas Senate passed seven abortion-related bills Tuesday. One, the so-called “Heartbeat Bill,” would ban abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected. That’s roughly six weeks into a pregnancy, and is often before the expectant mother knows she’s pregnant. Another bill would allow anyone in Texas to sue anybody who intends to aid, abet, or perform an abortion if they are believed to have violated state abortion laws.
Abortion rights advocates oppose both measures.
