COVID Vaccine Site at Fair Park Celebrates Milestone

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The COVID vaccination hub at Dallas’ Fair Park celebrated a milestone on Wednesday.

The 250,000th shot was administered just after 1 p.m. Wednesday. Quincy Williams was surprised to be the recipient of the celebratory vaccination.

“I wasn’t expecting this,” Williams said. “But I’m excited I got the shot. Now that I have it, hopefully I can go back to restaurants.”

The Fair Park site is operated by FEMA and Dallas County. Hundreds of volunteers work to administer thousands of shots daily. All adults in Texas are now eligible to be vaccinated, but instead of worrying about available vaccine, the focus for local leaders is shifting to a concentration on finding people willing to get the shot. Local registration events and ad campaigns are planned in coming weeks.
