Dallas County Partners with Local Retailers to Vaccinate Essential Workers

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas County and local retailers are partnering to offer COVID-19 vaccinations to retail essential employees.

Dallas County, Parkland Health & Hospital System, Kroger and the Texas Retailers Association announce the Essential Employees Vaccination Program on Monday at Kroger on Maple Avenue in Dallas.

“Our employees in the grocery business and the mass merchandising business have gone through a lot this past year with the pandemic and then the ice storm,” said TRA Consultant Gary Huddleston. “So we’re just very grateful.”

Dallas County is providing the vaccine to the stores out of the weekly shipment it receives from the state.

“This is such a relief,” said Kroger Clerk Lauren Daniel, as she was vaccinated at Kroger on Monday. “I’m at work, I’m getting safe, and I don’t have to go far. This is wonderful.”

All adults in Texas are now eligible to be vaccinated.
