Statewide Manhunt Ends With Death Of Suspect

Mexia (WBAP/KLIF) – The suspect wanted for the Friday night shooting of a Texas State Trooper apparently killed himself Saturday evening when he was surrounded in a house he was hiding in near Mexia. 36 year old DeArthur Pinson reportedly shot trooper Chad Walker when Walker pulled over to the side of highway 84 to see if Pinson needed help. After shooting the trooper Pinson reportedly ran into the woods, and evaded capture until Saturday evening. Pinson had a criminal record that includes a ten year prison sentence for armed robbery. Trooper Chad Walker is the father of four children including a two month old baby girl, and is listed in critical but stable condition in a Waco hospital.
