CVS Expanding COVID-19 Vaccine Access in Stores Statewide

DALLAS  (WBAP/KLIF News) – North Texans now have even more access to COVID-19 vaccines.

CVS Health announced Thursday it will soon offer vaccines at 74 additional CVS pharmacies statewide, bringing the total to 180 stores that are administering the vaccines in Texas.

The new locations include stores in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton and Johnson Counties.

According to a news release, appointment for the latest allocation of doses will be available for residents to book appointments on Saturday, March 13th with openings starting Sunday.

CVS Health will have locations and vaccine availability listed online. Click here to check the company’s website.

Right now, the state is allowing residents in 1A and 1B categories as well as Texas educators and staff to receive vaccinations.

The Texas Department of State Health and Human Services announced this week that those in category 1C, anyone 50 and older, will be eligible to get the vaccine starting March 15th.

Residents need to register before receiving the vaccine at CVS.com or via the company’s app. Anyone without internet access can call CVS Customer Service at 800-746-7287.

Walk-ins are not allowed.

Neela Montgomery, President of CVS Pharmacy and Executive Vice President of CVS Health, said they want to continue to ramp up vaccination efforts to help fight the pandemic.

“We’re proud to play a part in increasing access to the vaccine to as many people as possible to enable reopening efforts in the communities we serve,” she said.
