Dallas Police Fires Officer Accused of Murder For Hire Scheme

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) –The Dallas police officer accused of plotting a murder for hire scheme is no longer with the department.

Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia terminated officer Bryan Riser in a disciplinary hearing Tuesday.  Police say Riser is accused of paying thousands of dollars to have two people killed and dumped in the Trinity River back in 2017.

Riser, who had been with the department since 2008, can appeal the termination.

Meanwhile, Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson is launching an investigation into Riser was allowed to remain within the department on administrative leave.
