Another 127,000 Customers Have Electricity Restored

(WBAP/KLIF) — Oncor work crews turned the lights back on for 127,000 customers, Friday.  That leaves approximately 18,000 homes and businesses without electricity. Oncor officials expect the remaining outages to be restored by Sunday.

Rising temperatures have made the restoration possible as ice has melted from the roadways which had prevented work trucks and equipment from reaching problematic areas.   Hazardous road conditions had greatly slowed response time for to transport work crews and repair equipment to work sites.

Power was also restored to more than 38,000 customers impacted by an ice storm that blanketed an area surrounding Palestine.  Oncor serves about 3.7 million homes and businesses in Texas.
