Dallas-Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – North Texas hotels filled up with local residents as power remains out for hundreds of thousands during record-low temperatures.
It took some residents across the metroplex two days before they could find a hotel with availability.
“We had to sleep in our car part of the time, and in the apartment part of the time. Our thermostat was down to 42 degrees with not heat. We had ice crystals in the bottom of a glass this morning,” two residents told WBAP/KLIF’s Clayton Neville.
Many hotels across the area report being completely booked.
And, hotels themselves are urging residents to keep heat temperatures at 68 degrees or below, saying that it will go along way in helping them stay operational.
Meantime, some hotels have had to cut back on room service operations due to a delay in food deliveries.
