DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The City of Dallas will be changing the scheduling system for the COVID-19 vaccination site set up at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Downtown Dallas.
This will happen following long delays and problems over the weekend when people shared appointment times and others walked up uninvited by the City.
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson says this caused delays.
“We are currently working on a solution to this that will stop people from being able to share the link,” Johnson said at a news conference Monday. “This will take a couple of days, at least,”
The City is partnering with Methodist Health System to administer about 5,000 additional shots in the coming days.
Mayor Johnson believes the new partnership will help in stopping further problems like what happened over the weekend.
Johnson issued a plea to the citizens of Dallas to follow the guidelines laid out by the state and the city-run operation.
“What you are doing, inadvertently, is causing delays for everyone else who is supposed to be in line,” Johnson said. “I want everyone out there, and I say this with love, to think about your neighbors.”
