DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Senator Ted Cruz doubled down on his passion for term limits in Washington and spoke out about a recent exchange on Twitter with a Democratic Congresswoman on Friday while joining WBAP’S Rick Roberts Show.
“One of the key steps we can take to drain the swamp is to get rid of the career politicians who just get in bed with special interests and end up selling their constituents down the river,” Senator Cruz said.
Cruz told Roberts that he supports a mandated limit of two terms for members of the Senate and three terms for members of the House of Representatives.
The Senator weighed in on the controversy surrounding the Robinhood app and GameStop stock. The senator told Roberts that he is skeptical of concentrated power.
“Power is the enemy of liberty,” Cruz insisted. “What we’re seeing here is the rules applied in a way that benefit the rich and powerful and try to harm David and benefit Goliath.”
Cruz said he’d like to know more about Robinhood’s decision to block investors from purchasing the GameStop stock after a Reddit group called ‘Wall Street Bets’ began buying up shares. Earlier this week Democrat Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez echoed those sentiments on Twitter. Cruz re-tweeted her and said he agreed. AOC later went after Cruz by accusing him of nearly having her killed for what she said was his role in the deadly breach of the U.S. Capitol January 6. She claimed that Cruz helped incite the violence by objecting to electoral college votes in the Presidential election.
I am happy to work with Republicans on this issue where there’s common ground, but you almost had me murdered 3 weeks ago so you can sit this one out.
Happy to work w/ almost any other GOP that aren’t trying to get me killed.
In the meantime if you want to help, you can resign. https://t.co/4mVREbaqqm

The Senator spoke about AOC’s accusation with Roberts.
“If she wants to lash out at me, knock yourself out,” Cruz said. “I’m going to keep doing my job which is representing 29 million Texans and fighting for jobs and fighting for our freedom.”
Cruz accused Washington Democrats of being filled with rage. The comments came as many Democrats call for Cruz’s expulsion from the Senate for his alleged role in the breach. Cruz maintains he was simply suggesting a deep dive into the American election process when objecting to electoral college votes.
