Dallas-Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas-DEA recently seized over 1900 pounds of meth.
It was the largest methamphetamine bust in DEA North Texas history with nearly 2000 pounds seized from an 18-wheeler off of I-35 in Denton.
Eduardo Chavez, Special Agent in Charge for DEA Dallas told our media partner WFAA, the bust meant lots of lives were saved.
“Unfortunately, methamphetamine is one of the largest threats in North Texas, so we would anticipate that a lot of it was destined for the market here,” said Chavez.
The seizure happened on October 3, but details have only now been released. The names of those arrested remain sealed.
The drugs were worth over $45 million dollars.
Watch as the drugs were pulled from a hidden compartment of the big rig.
