Wylie Man Facing Charges in U.S. Capitol Breach

(FBI)

WYLIE (WBAP/KLIF) – A Wylie man is charged in his alleged involvement in this month’s attack on the United States Capitol building.

According to the FBI, Guy Reffitt was seen on video wearing a go-pro helmet while breaching the Capitol grounds on January 6. When discussing the nationwide investigation, FBI Dallas Special Agent in charge Matthew DeSarno said the bureau is working to hold anyone involved accountable.

“We do not tolerate violent agitators and extremists,” said DeSarno. Tipsters have turned in their friends, neighbors, and relatives, all increasingly radicalized by inflammatory rhetoric.”

An arrest affidavit states that Reffitt told his daughter he’d put a bullet through her phone if she told anyone about his possible involvement. According to the affidavit, Reffitt told his son that he needed to erase footage from a Go-Pro camera he wore in D.C. because he believed the FBI was watching him. He’s also accused of asking his family members not to tell anyone he was at the Capitol riot, and suggested that “traitors get shot.”

Reffitt is charged with obstruction and knowingly entering restricted grounds.
