McKinney (WBAP/KLIF) – A Christmas tree fire damaged a McKinney home Saturday. Firefighters say the residents of that home put their left over Christmas tree in their home fireplace to burn it, but the tree was much larger than the fireplace so only the top of the tree would fit. When they put a match to it, the flames roared through the rest of the very dry tree, and into the house. Firefighters knocked it down quickly, and say the home’s residents were lucky they didn’t burn their house down.
